Civil Engineer (EIT) - Land Development

Reports to: Project Manager and Lead Engineer

PGI is currently seeking an ambitious and highly motivated civil engineer (EIT) with a focus in land development. You will have the opportunity and responsibility to develop technical skills in producing design documents, drainage reports, calculations, site planning, stormwater management calculations and other pertinent reports.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist in designing and drafting land development plans, site layouts, grading plans, storm water management facilities, water quality best management practices and utilities utilizing AutoCAD

  • Civil 3D

  • Participate in development of preliminary design concepts

  • Perform basic drainage calculations

  • Develop cost-effective design layouts based on construction specifications and requirements

  • Research, determine and adhere to established design guidelines and procedures

  • Analyze design issues and recommend corrective actions

  • Perform civil design analysis and calculations according to project requirements

  • Determine construction cost and material estimates based on civil designs

  • Review project plan and determine the design feasibilities and constraints

  • Considers health, safety and environmental requirements when developing civil designs

  • Manage design and production tasks within allotted timelines and budgets

  • Site visits to gather data for use in designs

  • Perform design changes and improvements according to changing project demands

  • Attend team meetings to discuss timelines, budgets, and design constraints

Qualifications:

  • BS or Master’s Degree from an accredited University in Civil Engineering

  • Internship experience in land development preferred

  • Strong technical writing and excellent communication skills

  • Result-driven, focused and motivated

  • Must have strong desire to learn and advance technical skills

  • Demonstrate the ability to expeditiously advance knowledge and be able to accept constructive criticism

  • Proficient in CAD and Civil 3D software

  • Embraces teamwork collaboration
